Begonia, Fibrous Rooted Begonia semperflorens Fibrous-rooted types are best suited to hanging pots.

The common wax, bedding type begonia is one of the best shade plants available. They are excellent in partial shade and, if acclimated, can stand full sun. They should be spaced 8-10" and grown in a rich, porous soil. Avoid overhead watering late in the day, for cool, moist conditions will lead to serious botrytis problems. Excellent for border, mass and container plantings. May-frost. We grow some of the finest F-1 hybrids available. BIG SERIES- Height 20-24", spread 18 to 20". 2-3" flowers. Outstanding landscape begonia for mass plantings and large containers. 'Red with Green leaf', 'Rose with Bronze Leaf', 'Rose with Green leaf' COCKTAIL SERIES - Dark bronze leaves contrast with bright flowers, compact plants. 'Brandy' - 6-8". Clear pink, dark bronze leaf. 'Vodka'- 6-8". Deep scarlet with dark bronze foliage. Medium size flowers. Very uniform. 'Whiskey' - 6-8". Pure white with dark bronze leaves. PRELUDE SERIES: Weather tolerant, can hold up well in rain and heat. Compact and uniform habit. Nice in masses. 'Prelude Pink' - 6-8". Prolific, pink blossoms.Green foliage. 'Prelude White' - 6-8". White flowers, green leaves. SENATOR SERIES: 6-8". Bronze leaves, compact and floriferous. 'Pink', 'Red', 'Scarlet', 'White', 'Rose' VARSITY SERIES: 'Green Leaf Rose', 'Green Leaf Scarlet', 'Green Leaf White' VOLUMIA SERIES - Height 12-16", spread 9 to 12", flowers 1-2" in diameter. Good landscape begonia for beds and large containers. 'White' OTHER: 'Super Oylmpia White' - Height 6-8", 3/4" blooms. Early flowering, compact plants ideal for containers and gardens. Begonia dierna (Cane Begonia, Angel Wing, Dragonfly)  Sun or shade. Pink or white flowers. Magnificent foliage. HANGING BASKET BEGONIA Here are a few begonias which adapt very well to hanging baskets outdoors. We recommend a constant feeding program using Peter's Professional Houseplant Fertilizer (15-30-15), and we would caution you not to over water or let these plants dry out. Begonias bloom constantly and can be brought into the home before the first frost. BEACOUP SERIES - Large flowers face outward. Very showy in planters and baskets. 'Red', 'White' Begonia cubensis (Holly Leaf Begonia) - An excellent airy plant with a profusion of white flowers. Light shade. 'Bonfire' - Outstanding hanging basket variety for sun to partial shade. Brilliant orange flowers. 'Lois Burke' - Gorgeous angel-wing begonia. Masses of bright salmon blooms hang by the fistfull from the attractively silver-flecked foliage. 'Pink Dragon Wing'- Dangling pink flowers. 'Red Dragon Wing' - Large red flowers. Begonia richmondensis - Grows well in either full sun or shade, but prefers partial shade. Vigorous grower. Begonia semperflorens albo-foliis (Calla lily Begonia) 'Charm Pink' - Single pink flowers with variegated foliage and 'Charm Red' - Single red flowers, foliage is variegated.
