Canna C. indica Prefer a moist, rich soil and thrive in hot sunny locations with good air circulation. They grow from rhizomes which must be planted annually. Just after frost, cut the stalks to the ground and dig up the roots for dry storage. Cannas produce a large dramatic flower spike in a number of different colors. Effective both in background or containers.
