Sempervivum "sem-per-vee'um" Hens and Chicks Sun or semi-shade. Succulent foliage like flattened artichokes multiply in clusters. Easily grown. For rock gardens or walls. Evergreen. Must have good drainage. (Frame 2)

arachnoideum 'Webby Flame' - Small rosettes in compact mounds are topped by web-like coating. Burgundy colored in cool weather, green in summer. calcareum - Pretty dark blue-green leaves are 2" wide with red tips and pink flowers. 'Chivalry' - Medium, fairly tight heads have blue-green foliage and broad purple-red tips. 'El greco' - Open rosette of large, flat leaves tinted in rose. Holds color well. 'Imperial' -Pale green brushed with rose. 'Jungle Fires' - Large rosettes have green base that deepen to sharp, burgundy-colored tips. 'Rubrum Ash' - Soft rosy purple leaves. Grows large. 'Strawberry Fields' - Lovely strawberry color with fine cilia on edge.
